The City of Geneva announced that its Housing Rehabilitation Program applications are now available. The program, funded by New York State, will provide financial assistance in the form of a 100% deferred payment loan for repairs on owner-occupied substandard single-family homes. The loan is forgiven after five years unless the property is sold or stops being the primary residence.

Eligible projects include work on electric, plumbing, heating, roofing, insulation, masonry, windows, doors, painting, and both interior and exterior carpentry. Homeowners must meet low-to-moderate income requirements based on household size, with specific income limits detailed in the program brochure.

Thoma Development Consultants, hired by the City, will administer the program. Applications received by August 29, 2025, will be prioritized, although submissions will continue until all funds are committed.
