Ontario County Sheriff Report Highlights Calls, Jail, Heroism

Ontario County Sheriff in Shortsville released its monthly recap for April 2025. The report includes overall call statistics, jail information, and law enforcement responses.

The Communications Bureau received a total of 17,756 calls during the month. The Law Enforcement Bureau responded to 3,323 events. The Jail Bureau reported that the Ontario County Correctional Facility had a population of 42. There were 71 male and 14 female admissions, with 35 arraignments taking place in April.

Correction Officer Joseph Czworka was recognized as a Geneva Hometown Hero on behalf of the Geneva Kiwanis. A member of the Ontario County Sheriff's Office and a former United States Army serviceman, Officer Czworka serves as the Primary Booking Deputy at the Ontario County Jail. His quick thinking and thorough search recently prevented dangerous contraband from entering the facility.

Additionally, on April 10, two individuals graduated from the Ontario County Jail Therapy Program, a program designed to address personal problems, encourage change, and reduce recidivism. The seven-week program includes anger management, substance abuse, and individual and family counseling.

Officials continue to monitor activities and look forward to developments in May.
